What They Say

While Iowa fans were on the edge of their seats Friday and Sunday watching the Hawkeyes compete in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four games, a 2013 Creston graduate had a hand in the action.
Not yet 30 years old, Angelo has plenty of time to chase his dreams. The event he’d most like to direct comes from a love sparked in southwest Iowa.
“When I was in Creston and growing up, I was always at the skate park. I love skateboarding; I love the whole culture of it,” Angelo said. “My true dream is to work skateboarding at the Olympics. We just had our skateboarding debut at the Olympics a couple years ago. The sport itself is so thrilling and it’s just as good.”
Last year, Angelo traveled back to Iowa to direct the Dew Tour, a skateboard tour in Des Moines. “It sounds so silly, but it’s the same thing where the story lines in skateboarding are so good and so entertaining,” he said. “I think people would be shocked at how incredible that sport really is.”
